The Piano Lady
Becky Hilburn
Over the years, I founded Becky’s Piano Studio in Channelview, Texas, where we taught private and group piano lessons to many wonderful students. What started small eventually grew into a studio with several teachers and over 100 students. Watching students gain confidence and learn to enjoy playing the piano was always the most rewarding part.
Music has been part of my life for as long as I can remember.
I began playing piano by ear at the age of 8 and started formal piano lessons when I was 12 years old. I loved music from the very beginning, and before long I found myself helping others learn as well. I began teaching piano when I was just 14 years old, and teaching has remained one of the greatest joys of my life ever since.
In loving memory of my brother, Billy Graham. This training is dedicated to my brother: my friend, my favorite person to create music with and the greatest musical influence in my life. "Billy, your passion for music continues to inspire my every note."
Meet Your Instructor
I've been where you are — sitting down at the piano, unsure where to begin.
Many students came to me wanting to learn more than simply reading notes on a page. They wanted to understand chords, play by ear, improvise, and feel comfortable sitting down at the keyboard. Those are the areas I especially love teaching.
I have also spent many years involved with church musicians, praise teams, worship bands, and touring with a Christian band. Music has given me the opportunity to meet and work with so many wonderful people throughout my life.
My desire with these courses is simple:
To help students learn piano in a way that feels understandable, encouraging, and enjoyable.
Whether you are a complete beginner or someone who has played for years, I hope these lessons help you grow in confidence and discover your own unique style at the piano.
Thank you for being here, and I look forward to being part of your musical journey.
